Career.

I am an educator and English lover based in New Orleans. I currently serve as the Assistant Director of Student Services for the Graduate School at the University of New Orleans. ​

Learning is a lifelong commitment for me. It is what ignited my career in education over a decade ago. As a classroom teacher, I shared my love of English literature and language with students, creating a space focused on critical thinking and rigorous work. I was rated Highly Effective for years 2012-2014, the highest rating for teachers on the Compass Rubric.

My advocacy for education continued at Nunez Community College, where I led recruitment efforts and the dual enrollment program. I pioneered an Early College Academy model, in which high school juniors and seniors were given the opportunity to earn an Associate’s degree alongside their high school diplomas.

As the Director of Admissions and Dual Enrollment, I supervised recruitment efforts, created communication content for new and prospective students, implemented student engagement activities and orientations, managed the dual enrollment program, and fostered relationships with metro-area high schools. I also served on the Chancellor’s Council and Strategic Planning Team. I was selected as Outstanding Professional Staff Member for the College in 2018.

In 2021, I shifted to the university setting, serving in the Graduate School of my Alma Mater, UNO. There, I help streamline and optimize the student experience as they complete an advanced degree.
